CBS The Doctors Features Los Angeles Plastic Surgeon Dr. Christine Petti to Discuss Cellulite Reduction

Dr. Christine Petti has announced she will be appearing on the CBS network television show The Doctors to discuss Cellulaze®, an innovative minimally-invasive treatment for cellulite reduction recently approved by the FDA. Having played an integral role in the clinical trials for Cellulaze, Dr. Petti and her center for plastic surgery in Los Angeles recently began offering the procedure as an effective way to reduce the appearance of cellulite and smooth skin.

The Doctors, a CBS network television show offering medical advice to its viewers, will be airing a new episode featuring Los Angeles plastic surgeon Dr. Christine Petti on an advanced procedure targeted to eliminate or reduce the appearance of cellulite. Developed by Cynosure, the treatment is called Cellulaze® and was recently approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a minimally-invasive, laser-assisted therapy for cellulite reduction that increases the elasticity, thickness, and smoothness of skin. Dr. Petti, who served as one of five surgeons in the country involved in the clinical trials of Cellulaze, will be demonstrating how the procedure works and revealing the results of one of her patients who recently underwent treatment.

Cellulaze is performed by inserting a tiny laser fiber beneath the skin in order to heat and disrupt herniated pockets of fat and release fibrous bands that dimple skin. The treatment also assists in the stimulation of collagen to increase the depth and tone of skin for a smoother look. Dr. Petti says the entire procedure takes approximately one to one and a half hours and results should be visible within a few weeks, although full skin tightening and cellulite reduction may continue developing over the following months. She also says added benefits of the Cellulaze therapy are the quick recovery and minimal bruising that occur after treatment. “Cellulaze is an effective and one-of-a-kind answer to a woman’s battle against cellulite. As the old adage goes, men are from Mars and women are from Venus. Women are anatomically different: the architecture of the skin, fat and fibrous bands are different in women. Cellulaze is the only treatment that targets this special anatomy so the anatomy of cellulite can be changed, therefore creating a smoother skin surface.”

After having had the opportunity to observe the benefits of the unique cellulite treatment in Los Angeles for some time, Dr. Petti says she is confident in the results and hopes to share her findings with viewers of the CBS show. Tricia’s Story

On August 31st, 2010, Dr. Christine Petti performed chin augmentation and SmartLipo™ treatment on Tricia McNatt, and wait until you see Tricia a year later! Tricia was about to be married, and wanted to improve a specific aspect of her appearance that she had long felt self-conscious about. We have followed the progress of Tricia for more than a year, and Dr. Petti and Tricia have even been featured on the hit series, The Doctors, to tell the story.

As you can see in the above “before” photos, Tricia has microgenia, the medical term for a “small chin.” This anatomical deficiency in the jawbone is caused by genetics, and can often be corrected with chin augmentation. Dr. Petti and Tricia decided the best course of action to improve the appearance of her chin was to place a medium-sized silicone chin implant to give the area a more prominent, defined look. You can take a look at a video profile of Tricia’s procedure featured on the television series, The Doctors, here. Dr. Petti then performed the innovative SmartLipo™ procedure on Tricia to melt surrounding fat and tighten the skin, providing added facial contour along the jawline and making the results appear even more natural and beautiful. Tricia’s Double Chin Surgery

Dr. Christine Petti has offered her expertise as a plastic surgeon on “The Doctors” twice before, and has now made her third appearance on the Emmy Award-winning daytime talk show that discusses vital and valid current medical topics from sound and expert medical resources.

Introducing “The Doubles”

During the episode, “Solve Your Biggest Double Dilemmas”, Dr. Petti was asked to evaluate and correct a “double chin”. Tricia, the patient chosen by Dr. Petti, is a 30 year old model, actress and bride to be! She has had a double chin all her life, despite the fact that she had been in perfect physical condition. She thought about having it corrected all her adult life, but with the wedding coming up-she now had a timely motivating factor.

Tricia’s Treatment Plan

Dr. Petti performed a combination of procedures which included placement of a silicone implant along the chin and jaw line to create a very natural augmentation of her weak chin and mandible. Dr. Petti also performed Smartlipo TriplexTriplexSmartlipotrade;trade;trade; ™ of the neck to remove a congenital pocket of fat under her chin, which was always there, despite the patient’s ideal body weight. In her last appearance, in 2009, Dr. Petti was featured on “The Doctors-The Biggest Makeover Show Ever” as she revealed the aesthetic enhancement she performed on Debra, who flew in from Washington state for a facial makeover which included the surgical procedures-rhinoplasty, Smartlipo TriplexTriplexSmartlipotrade;trade;trade; ™of the Neck and SmartSkin ™ of the face and neck, along with nonsurgical enhancement using Botox and Juvederm facial dermal filler in the postoperative recovery phase. Debra, 46, wanted a new, youthful look and underwent the ultimate facial makeover by plastic surgeon Dr. Christine Petti. Dr. Petti injected filler on Debra’s frown lines and crow’s feet, performed Smartlipo TriplexTriplexSmartlipotrade;trade;trade; on her neck, added Sculptra to her forehead and cheeks for volume and Juvederm into the lips and performed a rhinoplasty.
